The Iron Lions, AMCF, and Mountain Run Winery present: GRAPES of WRATH 2026!
The Iron Lions USA and the American Medieval Combat Federation are excited to present Northern Virginia’s most exciting medieval combat sport event of the summer!
Grapes of Wrath is a 2-day Buhurt (full contact armored combat) tournament bringing together some of the best fighters from across the United States. This is a 5v5 tournament (five heavily armed and armored fighters on each side of our solid wooden fighting area, doing battle until only one team is left standing!). With elite men and femme athletes battling it out for glory, you don’t want to miss this incredible event!
Come watch as dozens of armored knights engage one another in the fields of Culpeper. The battles, weapon swings, takedowns, and big hits are all real. This is the sport of kings, brought back to you now in a modern setting.
If you’ve never experienced armored combat before, now is your chance. Come enjoy some premium wine, food, vendors, and most importantly, no-holds-barred, brutal steel fighting competition!

Bring lawn chairs/picnic blankets and arrive early for the best seats.
Beer, wine, cider and mead will be available for purchase (no outside alcohol is allowed) both at the winery and at the tournament site.
The winery will stay open late Saturday night, and onsite camping is available for this event (message the winery for details).
